Meet Liora at level 20.
Find Liora, the Pet Keeper, in the starting town. Her side quest, Proof of the Journey, asks for evidence that you have explored the mainland:
- 5 Ladybug Shells
- 5 Boar Tusks
- 5 Bone Fragments
- 3 Demonic Horns
- 5 Clay Cores
Bring them back to earn an egg, 500 EXP and an introductory portion of matching pet food. The egg’s contents are a surprise; the quest does not tell you which companion you will get.

There are four egg types: Moon, Earth, Fire and Ocean. Each type has its own configured pool of possible companions. Other eggs can be introduced through world rewards and monster drops; a named egg type is not a guarantee that it is currently available from a particular boss.
Explore with an egg in your hatching slot.
Place the egg beside your Boots slot.
Drag it from your backpack into the hatching slot, or click the slot to choose an egg. You can incubate one egg at a time. Starting incubation binds and consumes that egg.
Earn EXP and walk through the world.
Both exploration and experience matter. Hover or open Info on the slot to see the remaining EXP. If the companion still needs time, the hint says it is not ready; near the end it changes to “It’s nearly here!”
Meet your new companion.
When both requirements are met, a ten-second reveal shows the egg rocking, cracking and opening. You then see the pet you received.
One active friend. Real care.
Open Pets from the quick menu. You can take three companions on your travels, with one active at a time. Leave the others with the Pet Keeper and swap travelling companions there.
Feed your companion to keep it active. One matching Fire, Earth, Ocean or Moon Pet Food portion costs 10,000 gold and provides one hour, with up to three hours stored. Food is consumed while the pet is out and you are online, including while you stand still. Offline time does not consume it.
A hungry companion withdraws. Its bonuses stop immediately, and it does not keep levelling while inactive. Buy food from the Keeper and check the current price before heading out.
Active, fed pets provide attribute bonuses and attack the monster you select. Monsters target the attacker who has dealt the most damage, including your pet. A defeated pet recovers for one hour, including offline time; its travelling slot stays reserved. It returns with full HP and no food, retaining its level and EXP. Outside combat, a living active pet regenerates 1% of maximum HP per second after 10 seconds. After combat, your active pet collects monster loot you earned and returns to you. It walks within reach and cannot collect through walls. Other players’ loot and items dropped by players are ignored. Items stay on the ground if your backpack is full or you cannot carry their weight. Pet bonuses and food consumption are suspended during arena duels.
Raise a companion through three forms.
Your pet has its own level. While active and fed, it gains the character EXP you earn without taking EXP away from you. Each pet level requires twice the EXP of the corresponding player level.
A pet can have a base form and two evolutions. Evolution levels, maximum level up to 60 and attribute growth depend on the species. New forms can unlock more bonuses; check the Pets window for your companion’s attributes.
The species keeps its base name, and you can add a personal name — for example, Moonwolf – Rex. Pet name colors indicate rarity: white, green, blue, purple or orange. This is separate from the equipment color ladder.
